Enrollment terms
These terms govern individual enrollment in BRIDGE Certification. By purchasing a seat or creating an account under an individual enrollment, you agree to them. Participants enrolled through a campus or network are covered by their institution's agreement with First Gen Empower.
Effective September 15, 2026. Version for the Fall 2026 cohort. The version you accepted at purchase governs your cohort.

The program
BRIDGE Certification (Building Resources for Immigrant Dreams, Growth and Empowerment) is First Gen Empower's professional certification program preparing educators, advisors, faculty, staff, and nonprofit practitioners to support undocumented and immigrant students. The program runs on a cohort calendar published on the program website and portal: weekly pre session videos, live sessions offered twice each week, program materials, the Campus Action Proposal, and the program community. First Gen Empower may adjust individual session dates, speakers, or materials; when it does, it provides comparable value within the same cohort. If something outside our control disrupts a session, we reschedule it or give you another way to complete that week.
-
Your seat
Individual enrollment is for you personally. Your seat, your account, and your certification path are not transferable and may not be shared, resold, or used by anyone else. You are responsible for keeping your sign in credentials private.
-
Payment
The individual enrollment fee is $300, paid in full at checkout through the program portal. Discount codes, where provided by First Gen Empower or a First Gen Empower partner, apply at checkout and modify the fee per the code's terms. Institutional and campus cohort enrollments are governed by their own agreements with First Gen Empower, not by these terms.
-
Refunds
All individual enrollment purchases are final. The enrollment fee is not refundable, in whole or in part, including for non attendance, withdrawal, or not completing certification.
This section covers your own decision not to participate or not to complete. If First Gen Empower cancels a cohort or does not deliver the program, that is a different situation and is not governed by this section.
-
Certification
Certification is earned, not purchased. You earn BRIDGE Certification by meeting the completion requirements published in the program portal for your cohort. Payment of the enrollment fee guarantees access to the program, not a credential. First Gen Empower administers certification decisions and issues each certified participant a verifiable credential. BRIDGE Certification is valid for two years from the date it is issued.
-
Community and conduct
The program community, discussions, and live sessions serve people doing sensitive work with undocumented students. By enrolling you agree to the program's sharing guidelines, published in the portal, which are part of these terms. In particular: what other participants share in sessions or community spaces stays in the program; you will not share, post, or forward recordings, chat transcripts, screenshots, or other participants' names, institutions, or stories outside the program; and you will not ask other participants to disclose immigration status, theirs or their students'. First Gen Empower may remove access for conduct that violates these terms or endangers other participants. If First Gen Empower removes you from the program for a serious or repeated violation of these conduct terms, your enrollment fee will not be refunded, except where required by applicable law.
-
Recordings
Live sessions may be recorded for program delivery, including replay by enrolled participants who missed a session. Your voice, image, and chat contributions may appear in those recordings. Program recordings stay inside the portal and are not published externally without separate consent.
-
Materials and intellectual property
Program materials, including videos, decks, guides, templates, and the curriculum, belong to First Gen Empower or its licensors. You may use them for your own professional practice and within your institution's support work. You may not republish, resell, or redistribute them, and you may not use them to build a competing training program.
-
Not legal advice
The program provides education and professional training. It is based on laws, policies, and publicly available information that change. First Gen Empower does not guarantee completeness or accuracy, and nothing in the program is legal advice or a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney about a specific person or situation.
-
Your information
First Gen Empower uses your enrollment information to run the program: your account, progress, attendance, certification record, and program communications. The pre program and post program surveys are confidential. The portal records completion, and responses are reported in aggregate without your name. Other portal activity is linked to your account so that progress can be tracked. First Gen Empower reports program outcomes in aggregate and does not sell personal information. Our privacy policy explains how your information is handled, and our cookies page describes the technologies used by the portal.
-
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, First Gen Empower's total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid for enrollment. Each party is responsible for its own actions and omissions under these terms.
-
Dispute resolution
Disputes under these terms are first addressed through good faith conversation. If unresolved, they go to mediation, and if mediation fails, to binding arbitration in the State of California.
-
Entire agreement
These terms, together with the published completion requirements and sharing guidelines they reference, are the entire agreement for individual enrollment and supersede prior understandings. First Gen Empower may update these terms for future cohorts; the version you accepted at purchase governs your cohort. Amendments for a current cohort require notice to you.
Acceptance happens at checkout or account creation, by checking I agree to the BRIDGE Certification enrollment terms. Questions before you enroll: bridge@firstgenempower.org.
